RSNO & Charanga bring treasured animation, Gaspard's Foxtrot, to schools

Today, we’re excited to bring Gaspard’s Foxtrot to the Charanga platform – a beautiful, animated film with accompanying teaching resources that we hope will become a firm favourite in your music lessons.

Gaspard is a loveable fox who hops on a bus and ends up exploring the sights and sounds of London on his way to the Proms in the Park. Along the way, children are introduced to the world of classical music through Jonathan Dove’s fantastic score, expertly performed and recorded by our partners, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO).

What’s new for your classroom:

• A 30-minute animated film, perfect for primary music lessons.
• A full suite of teaching resources for children aged 4–13.
• Available in English, Scottish Gaelic and British Sign Language (BSL).

Originally developed with the RSNO as part of its National Schools Programme, Gaspard’s Foxtrot was designed to support Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence and enrich music learning for primary pupils across the country. Now every school using Charanga can enjoy it too.

Its release is the latest chapter in Charanga’s close collaboration with the RSNO, bringing high-quality, accessible music education content and resources into schools that need it most. And there’s more on the way.

Charanga is so much more than a platform of teaching resources and educational technology. Its content connects the RSNO’s artistic and educational work directly with classrooms across the world. Gaspard’s Foxtrot showcases what children experience, and demonstrates how teachers can use Charanga to build learners’ real-world skills progressively, measurably, and above all, enjoyably.
