Rise Up with Teachers Rock — A National Singing Campaign for Schools

Teachers across the UK are invited to put singing at the heart of school life and be part of a national music project.

Rise Up with Teachers Rock has been developed in partnership with YoungMinds UK and uses music as a practical tool to support young people’s emotional well-being.

Accessible to all

Charanga users can access the unit in their Freestyle section. If you’re new to Charanga, you can still access the unit by starting a free 30-day trial.

Championing singing

Throughout the unit, young people will engage in a range of musical activities designed to support their musical development and personal growth.

The resources are also designed to help teachers build sustainable singing practices, regardless of prior experience, enabling every participating school to develop a culture where singing is accessible, inclusive and valued.

Beyond the classroom

There’s also the opportunity to be part of a national campaign. With around 1 in 5 young people in the UK experiencing a probable mental health disorder, the unit responds with something tangible: group singing, creative expression and a shared sense of purpose.

Students will learn and perform Rise Up as part of their classroom work, with the option to submit audio or video recordings of their performances for inclusion in an official music video and single, due for release on November 20th 2026.

They can also perform as part of a large-scale choir at a live recording event organised on July 17th at Exeter Cathedral.
