Make Music Day 2021 – Perform at the world’s largest music festival

Make Music Day (MMD), the annual celebration of music now running in 125 countries and over 1,000 cities, takes place on 21st June. As always, there are various ways that teachers, schools, young people, parents and carers can get involved.

Anyone organising their own performances to mark the day can list them on the MMD UK website. You’ll find a wealth of support materials there to help you plan and promote your event.

Our website

Non-Charanga users can access Joanna Mangona and Pete Readman’s popular song, Bringing Us Together, and a series of musical activities on our website to use and share freely with their pupils in preparation for their own performance.

You’ll find a listening track and some games to help students learn the song, as well as a glockenspiel part that can be played on any instruments you have available in the classroom. Have fun!

Durham Music Hub has published a selection of songs on its local Charanga platform, enabling teachers and students to learn them in preparation for the MMD School’s Big Sing – part of Durham Music’s Big Play event. To get involved, complete this registration form. Again, if you’re new to Charanga, you’ll need to start a complimentary trial to access the materials.
