Large numbers of schools engage with their local music hub for support across different areas of music education.

Large numbers of schools also engage with Charanga for help with music technology, curriculum building, schemes, teaching resources, training and CPD to support their music provision.

Working together, we can coordinate efforts to ensure schools, and more importantly, children and young people, have the best of all worlds.

Our partnerships with Music Hubs

We work with over 80% of Hub Lead Organisations and the areas they cover. In the best of these collaborations, deep partnerships have formed where, in an atmosphere of trust and with a shared vision, strategic cooperation provides outstanding levels of support for schools and, more widely, for music-making across the Hub. Many are providing music technology at scale with YuStudio®, our award-winning DAW for aspiring producers, young composers, new music technology users and specialists.

New to Charanga?

Music Hub managers who don’t know us or haven’t worked with us recently often don’t know what we do.

A call with Charanga’s Head of Education Partnerships, Mark Cardy (a former Music Hub senior leader), can provide you with up-to-date information about the type of work we do with other Music Hubs around the country. It’s also a chance for Mark to hear about the particular challenges you face and perhaps suggest how you might test the water with us without committing lots of resource.

Have a relationship with us but not using its full potential?

Let us bring you up to speed with what we can help you with and share examples of collaborations that create value for everyone involved.

About Charanga

Outside of our work with Music Hubs, do look at some of the broader educational initiatives we are involved in, particularly around access and inclusion, personalised and home learning, and educational technology development. You may be surprised to learn how our work with Youth Music, Arts Award, Young Sounds UK, and others resonates with your own strategic priorities.

Expert support

Mark Cardy, Charanga’s Head of Education Partnerships, works with Music Services, Hubs, and schools UK-wide and fully understands the music education landscape. He began his career in music education as a brass teacher for Surrey Arts and Berkshire Maestros before becoming Head of Brass, Head of Wider Opportunities, and later, Senior Instrumental Leader at Surrey.

Recording artist and producer Max Wheeler, Charanga’s Head of Music Technology, has been a music educator for over 20 years, extensively working with young people with special educational needs and those unable to engage in mainstream education. YuStudio and other software are proprietary, making him the ideal conduit between you and Charanga’s software engineering team.
