Who we are

Charanga is a trusted leader in technology-enabled music and arts education. Teachers in 64 countries use our customisable digital platforms to deliver inspirational learning experiences for students aged 4–18.

We believe everyone using our platforms should enjoy every minute of their education. We’re passionate about young people’s learning and its potential to help them grow into kind, curious, and open-minded individuals who are sensitive and knowledgeable about music and the arts.

We’re equally committed to supporting teachers with everything they need to teach music and the arts confidently, professionally and with enjoyment and enthusiasm.

We know that we can transform teaching and learning experiences by combining world-class educational technology, solid pedagogy, and great resources. This is what has driven Charanga from its very beginnings.

Curriculum development

Around the world, statutory curricula vary significantly and always have an element of locally appropriate cultural content.

Across its 25+-year history, Charanga has developed teaching resources and Schemes of Work that enable schools to teach the required curriculum confidently and skillfully. We go further to ensure children and young people can develop their natural curiosity about music and the arts beyond core curricula and become creators of new music and inspirational art.

Today, Charanga is involved in curriculum development around the world. In addition to its well-established National Curriculum and Curriculum for Excellence-aligned Schemes for England and Scotland, we provide strategic consultancy to national and state governments, as well as leading cultural institutions and partners in Wales, Australia, the US, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. We collaborate on large-scale digital education projects that extend their reach and develop educators’ professional skills.
