Teachers using Yumu, our online learning space for students, will find seven new Yumu Packages available – one for each year group.
The Music At Home series comprises lighter versions of selected Scheme Units, while those in their final primary year can access a version of the Topic PLASTIC. All are ideal for students working at home independently, or with parents and carers. They also build on the learning from your music lessons at school.
Sharing the new resources via Yumu is easy. Set up a Student Group for each class if you haven’t already, and then choose the appropriate Scheme Summer 1 Unit or Topic for them – Big Bear Funk, Your Imagination, Friendship Song, Bringing Us Together, Blackbird, Dancing In The Street or PLASTIC.
If selecting Your Imagination (pictured) for example, simply share it as a Package or an Assignment via the links on the ‘There is a special version of this unit…’ banner at the top of the page. Sharing the resource as a Package allows students to work on it independently, at their own pace. If you’d like to track their progress and have the option of setting a completion date, share it as an Assignment.
Charanga will be running a number of online webinars over the next two weeks to explain more about Yumu and to answer any other questions you might have. For more information and to register your place, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
