Yumu

A free, secure online learning space for every student

Yumu is a password-protected space where students learn, play and develop their musicianship, supported by their teachers and safe by design.

Yumu can be used by any teacher with a Charanga login to support every child and young person they teach. Setting up students with a Yumu account is quick and easy, allowing teachers to manage and share personalised projects, lessons, and resources directly with them.

As soon as students log in, they have immediate access to a suite of Creative Tools, including YuStudio®, our award-winning DAW. There's nothing to download, and there's no additional cost. Yumu accounts are included with every Charanga subscription.

Teachers can then set assignments using their own favourite resources, exercises, and pieces, as well as Charanga’s, and can track students’ progress or share anything they're working on in class. Teachers can also choose from ready-made learning packages to help grow their interest in specific areas of learning or musical activity independently.

Yumu data feeds into music service management and reporting, and the optional messaging feature supports student voice and in-platform polls. Students cannot message or see each other's work on Yumu.
