Mark Burke and Paul Fletcher, founding Directors of Charanga, were invited to a reception at 11 Downing Street as a result of the work Charanga has done with the Britten Centenary “Friday Afternoons” celebrations.

Mark Burke said: “It was an honour to be invited to the Downing Street celebration this week. Aldeburgh Music consistently excel in everything they do and listening to the children from St Pancras Catholic Primary School in Ipswich sing so beautifully at the reception was very inspiring for Paul and me and a wonderful reminder of why we want to help bring Britten’s music to a new generation of young people through the Charanga Musical School programme. I wish Aldeburgh Music continued success in the run up to the big centenary celebration day on Friday 22nd November.”
