Charanga eLearning
inspira® has been developed in response to the UK government’s ‘Wider Opportunities’ pledge to give every child the chance to learn a musical instrument.
It is a unique methodology that seamlessly integrates learning a musical instrument with using contemporary music ICT to create music and develop core musical skills.
inspira® is song-driven where songs are rendered in an ICT application with parts for a wide range of instruments and ensembles and with creative ICT manipulation tools that children and teachers can use to produce personalised settings, compositions and performances.
With song at its heart and wide-ranging use of generic musicianship training, inspira® builds on the DCSF’s Sing Up and Trinity Guildhall KS2 training initiatives.
Since its launch in September 2009, inspira® has become the default Wider Opportunities programme in several Local Authorities including Lancashire, Oldham, Knowsley and Essex.
Find out more about:
“inspira has given my staff the confidence and the resources to deliver exciting music lessons. The sessions are quick and easy to organise and can successfully be taught by non-music specialists. The children clearly enjoy the dynamic, fun and stimulating sessions and our teachers are learning valuable new skills.”
Julie Brown, Headteacher, Longton Primary School, Preston
“The feedback from both MAPAS staff and schools is really positive. The inspira® programmes are working really well and even the most techno phobic members of staff are managing to use them!”
Angela Ball, Director, Knowsley Music and Performing Arts Service
